Here at DST, we are red hot with our NHL picks as we are on a three-win streak as now we go from the Garden across the Hudson to lovely (not really) New Jersey as Connor McDavid battles Taylor Hall and the rest of the Devils.
Edmonton Oilers @ New Jersey Devils
With all of the young talent on the Oilers, it's crazy to see them in the lower part of the NHL as it seems like no matter the talent, the world will always have the Oilers, Sabres and the Coyotes sucking. In saying this, they are heating up as they are coming off a massive win against the Islanders in overtime as they showed their talent on the blue line. As always we talk about two main stats, the first one are the Oilers road defensive record. The Oilers have the best road defense, fifth best road penalty kill and are in top 15 of blocking shots, and you may ask, "they stink, who cares!?!?" Well, the Devils may have a top three home power play, but they are in the lower half of home even straight goals and have the third least amount of shots on goal. For me, I see the Oilers winning this as they are finally heating up as I see this game being low scoring. You may be able to guess this before saying it, but I am also going with an under, it may not be sexy, but it will make you money tonight.
Prediction: Oilers 2-1
