As we have a massive match this Monday as José Mourinho's Manchester United visit Anfield as they face Jürgen Klopp's Liverpool. In this preview, we will look at everything from team news to odds on the over/under. We are going to make sure you know EVERYTHING to bet on for this game.
League Position: 7th
Goals Against: 8
Goals For: 13
Manchester United have hit a rough patch since they lost to their rival's Manchester City and it seems like they need a huge win like this to get them out of their funk. Even though many pundits around the world suck up Manchester United and are too afraid tell you the truth about Wayne Rooney being a shadow of himself, Pogba STILL being disappointing, Zlatan finally showing some age as he is having trouble at times keeping up with the speed and DON'T even get me started on Jesse Lingard. With David Ge Gea being mistake prone for them a chance at this game they need their back line and their keeper to step up big against an offensively powerful Liverpool Side.
How Can Manchester United Win?
To win this game they need to exploit Liverpool's weak defense and especially at Left-Back as if you attack James Milner enough, he will crumble due to NOT BEING A REAL Left Back! I know this over simplifies it, but if History shows anything the more pressure you put on Liverpool's back line and their goal keeper, you will score.
Notable Injuries: Phil Jones (CB)
Returning Players: Luke Shaw (LB) and Henrikh Mkhitaryan (M)
Predicted XI: 4-3-3
De Gea, Valencia, Bailly, Smalling, Blind, Fellani, Herrera, Pogba, Lingard, Ibrahimovic, Rashford
League Position: 4th
Goals Against: 10
Goals For: 18
Liverpool is one of the hottest teams in the Premier League this season as they are second in league with 18 goals scored (Arsenal and Manchester City tied at 19). Even though they have scored goals, they have also conceded the second most out of the top ten teams behind Bournemouth. A big factor in this match is their defense, we all know their attacking players will come ready to go but how will their defensive players be able to keep the team balanced. The one player who will make or break this match for Liverpool is their Captain/Leader Jordan Henderson; he goes missing sometimes, but he has all the passion you need in a heated match against your rival.
How Can Liverpool Win?
Liverpool will win this match by scoring goals. I know this seems simple, but the last thing this defensively poor Liverpool side want to do is play into the boring tactical style that José Mourinho wants. Even though I am critical of him, De Gea is a great goalie, and you need to get shots on him early and often so the first 10 minutes of this match will show everything on how up for this match Liverpool is and which manager will succumb to the other one's tactics first.
Injures: Clyne (Probable), Lallana (Doubt), Lovren (Probable), Sakho (Massive Doubt), Wijnaldum (Doubt)
Predicted XI: 4-3-3
Karius, Clyne, Matip, Lovren, Milner, Henderson, Can, Coutinho, Mane, Sturridge, Firmino
ManU Win: +255
Liverpool Win: +112
ManU Win: 13/5
Liverpool Win: 6/5
In this Prop, I think the only way to go is the over. It is pretty clear looking at the two teams both teams will score which means the over will most likely happen. If you even just look at Liverpool and the difference in their attack/defense, any Liverpool match is guaranteed goals. IF Liverpool can score early and Manchester United have to chase this match, than the over will be destroyed.
Fact: 6 out of their last 10 matches against each other have went to the over (Including Europa League)
If there is one thing in this world I know is that when a bet seems to good to be true or everyone is picking one team, bet the opposite. This entire season everyone has been loving Jürgen Klopp and how lovable and passionate he is but even though he is a great manager and José Mourinho might seem to be losing his touch, anyone know who's Soccer/Football knows to NEVER sleep on José. Even though Liverpool have the fire power to win I am going to go with the away team here for a shock result and bring Liverpool down to earth. I know many people won't agree with me, but I am going to go with a 2-1 Manchester United Victory (send me the hate, I thrive on it).
