As most teams have eleven games left, it's time to see exactly what teams will finish where. This is some of the most exciting times in the Premier League season as we have the FA Cup coming to an end, the European Leagues are heating up, and games coming fast and more competitive. Even though there is a lot of uncertainty with how this season can end, here at DST we are all but curtain about five things. Feel free to leave your thoughts or controversial opinions in the comment section or on Twitter at DST_Tweets.
5. Arsenal Will Finish Outside The Top Four
A month ago I said they would make it however, I can't understand how Arsenal is going to break the top four. After last night's embarrassing defeat to FC Bayern Munich, the turmoil in both the stands and reportedly in the locker room is only part of it. There is fighting amongst fans, the mistreatment of the legend Arsène Wenger, Alexis Sánchez disinterested and Mesut Özil just being, shit and also indifferent all adds to my skepticism of this team. I just can't see them going past teams like Liverpool, Manchester City and of course Spurs and Chelsea. For Arsenal to have any chance they need to beat every top six rivals they face for the rest of the season. They first host Manchester City, who is in amazing form, then go to White Hart Lane where Spurs haven't lost all season then Arsène Wenger hosts José Mourinho and Manchester United. Need I say more? Probably not but I will. Arsenal is just in such a bad place right now; I cant see them breaking the Champions League places especially with the lack of fan support. The fans are treating a man that gave them so much like shit and frankly, this is what they deserve. Europa League-bound for Arsenal!
4. Tony Pulis Will Get Manager of The Season
For years, Tony Pulis, was known as this boring manager, with shit football players and bored teams to sleep so his team can quietly escape relegation. This season has been different. The signing of Nacer Chadli, getting the best out of Matt Phillips and a defense that keeps its strong structure and knows exactly how a mid-table team needs to defend. West Brom has already scored 36 goals this season as they have already surpassed last seasons tally and also they have a +16 better goal differential. This is all by having a net spend of £13.52 which is the 7th least in the entire Premier League. They made a lot of changes, changes that obviously needed to be made. Changes in the staff, getting rid of the dead weight and just transforming their tactics into exciting football is impressive. I know many believe Antonio Conte should get it but just look at the skill he already had and how much money he spent, its a no brainer. Also, let's not forget West Brom are only 10 points off 50, which would be their best Premier League season ever. Amazing work from Pulis.
3. Tottenham Will Finish Above Arsenal
I know everyone has been saying this for years, but it's time. Mauricio Pochettino's Tottenham Hotspur will finish above Arsenal as the tides of North London have been turning for years. I already stated above that Arsenal's fans are in shambles, and with Alexis Sánchez looking like he doesn't care who will drag them over the line? Which makes this even worse fot the Gunners as Tottenham are the exact opposite right now, Tottenham fans are all banded together with this young squad and with the White Hart Lane era coming to an end their home is a fortress that has yet to be conquered. As I write this Arsenal are six points below Spurs with a game in hand, so for argument's sake let's make them three points behind. Arsenal's average opponent's league position for the rest of the season is 10 (with all three out of the four main relegation contenders), where as Spurs' is 11. Even though these numbers are close when you consider form and opponents, I can't see Spurs dropping many points but more importantly, this doesn't seem like an Arsenal team that can go on a 6-7 game winning streak. It will be close, but I would put any money on Spurs finally finishing above their North London rivals.
2. Leicester City Will Get Relegation
Listen, two games aren't going to change my opinion that I think this team is poisonous and will get relegated. We see this with every team when a managerial change happens players usually increase their play for a couple of games but that time will end. With huge games like Manchester City (away), Tottenham (home) where we know how badly Spurs will want to beat them, Everton (away), Sunderland (home), and West Brom (away) they have some tough games. I think this team can be easily found out. I think Hull and Liverpool both went away with what made every team beat Leicester this year which is sitting behind the ball and make sure Vardy can't play off the long ball. Teams will start doing this again, and Leicester will be found out. With already 45 goals conceded (which is close to the amount Newcastle and Aston Villa conceded in 27 matches last season) I don't think their defense can stop them from leaking goals. I am sorry Leicester, but your fairytale is dead.
1. Harry Kane Will Win Golden Boot
As you guys saw a week ago on the blog, I said Harry Kane was the best striker in the Premier League. He showed it again this weekend as he now leads the Premier League in goals even though he played six fewer games. Kane is bound to win it as Alexis Sánchez looks like he doesn't care and will leave Arsenal. Romelu Lukaku is good but Everton is worse than Spurs, and he doesn't have the players around him that Kane does, and now with Zlatan Ibrahimović banned for three matches, it will hurt his chances. With how hot Harry Kane is will anyone stop him? I don't think so. Harry Kane will go back to back and get AT LEAST 25 Premier League goals this season while he marches on to his award. Three Season Wonder.
