In general, New Years and New Years Resolutions are pretty shitty. The idea of celebrating a new year by spending twice the amount on alcohol, transportation and food just to MAYBE make out with a girl (or boy) at midnight is beyond stupid. In saying this, many Premier League clubs NEED to take the new year in and look inward to make sure their club can have success this year and of course, in years to come.
Arsenal F.C. - Find Mesut Özil
Here, I know Arsenal supporters are reading this and cursing me because I know how defensive you get over your little German. That fact is he is having a stinker of a season. Even though he may be scoring more, Mesut Özil is meant to be assisting and he isn't doing that. According to Squawka Özil has had the MOST touches in the Premier League in the final third of the pitch so to only have three assists in this Arsenal team is embrassing. To also make matters worse, he needs to step up in big games, he was missing in the North London Derby and was TERRIBLE against Manchester City. He needs to step up if Arsenal wants any chance of catching Chelsea.
This Tweet is something Arsenal fans don't want to see.
A.F.C. Bournemouth - Keep Eddie Howe and Sign Jack Wilshere
Bournemouth is a club most supporters of the Premier League like, they are the ultimate underdog that don't sit back and park the bus like most smaller clubs, but they play open and expansive football. With how positive, young and English Eddie Howe is he looks like one of the up and coming managers in the Premier League. With Arsene Wenger getting to the end of his career, José Mourinho not known for not staying at clubs long, and even West Ham United having a rough year, up and down the Premier League there are spots open for an opportunity for the 39-year-old. On the Player side, Jack Wilshere is known for being injured more than being a footballer, but this year he has been so important for this Bournemouth midfield and for them to lose him it would be tragic, they need to make this deal permanent.
Burnley F.C. - Get Better Away from Home
Burnley sits at the bottom of the Premier League away fixture table as they have gotten only one point away from Turf Moor. If Burnley wants to stay up this season, they need to be better away from home. Last season the worst team Aston Villa had six points away from home already which even though may not seem like a lot, it adds up. As someone who has watched most of their matches, I doubt they can do it.
Chelsea F.C. - Keep Diego Costa and Eden Hazard Focused
Chelsea is on fire this season as they are riding high on a twelve game winning streak and top of the league with 46 points. Chelsea seems to be unbeatable but if there is one thing they need to make sure of, is to keep their two stars who last season handed it in and didn't try to stay focused. Both are known for having a bad attitude, so Conte needs to make sure they don't capitulate because, without these two, Chelsea aren't a top four team.
Crystal Palace F.C. - Let Sam Allardyce Run Free
As I have said time and time again, Crystal Palace were so wrong with taking Alan Pardew from Newcastle. Pardew is/was a complete and utter moron. As they seemed doomed for a relegation fight regardless of all the money, they spent but they finally let him go. They got ex-England manager Sam Allardyce. This was an excellent choice, what he did for West Ham, and recently Sunderland was exactly what Crystal Palace need. This is also amazing for fans of Christian Benteke because everyone knows Big Sam loves a big and strong striker. The only thing that can ruin this for Palace is if they don't listen to him.
Everton F.C. - Get Consistency out of Ross Barkley
There is no more frustrating player in the Premier League than Ross Barkley. He shows so much skill at some points as he can score gorgeous goals, feed the striker and was supposed to be the next English, superstar. Since the days of the Barkley hype, Dele Alli, Erik Dier and even Jack Wilshere have overtaken him in the England midfield as now he is closer to a fringe player than a starter for the three lions. With Romelu Lukaku, Barkley has the elements to be a top player but seems that he will never live up to the hype.
Hull City A.F.C. - Find a New Owner and Regroup
I feel bad for Hull City supporters, their owner Assem Allam is a real piece of shit. He didn't spend the appropriate money to help Hull City have ANY chance at staying up. He let Steve Bruce walk away from the job weeks before the season and is openly trying to sell the club. Hull just need to take the L, get relegated and find new owners. They have players like Robert Snodgrass, Ahmed Elmohamady and experienced players like Michael Dawson to help them get back up but to have any chance of doing something; they need a new owner.
Leicester City F.C. - The Glory Days are Over so Change Tactics!
Just seven months ago we were all praising Leicester on how unbelievable it was that they won the Premier League title but oh boy, have times changed. They are just three points above the drop zone as Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez look like one season wonders. The style of "throw it over the top to Vardy" is now found out by the entire Premier League and if Claudio Ranieri doesn't wake up and changes his tactics they could easily be relegated.
Liverpool F.C. - Buy a Defender
Yes, Liverpool has an amazing attack but sorry Liverpool, but defense wins championships. Liverpool has scored 45 goals but conceded 21 this season so just imagine if instead of having Matip and Lovren they could stick Virgil van Dijk or José Fonte instead. If Liverpool can get Virgil van Dijk, they would instantly be one of the favorites for the league because they will get get a top five center back.
Manchester City F.C. - Time to Replace Vincent Kompany
I truly like Vincent Kompany, he is a great defender, an amazing leader and seems like a good guy. In saying this, it's time for Manchester City to spend big and move on. On his day he was one of the best defenders in the league but this is Kompany's 35th separate injury since joining City in 2008, and it is the third to have sidelined him in this campaign alone. This is a huge issue, even though he is only in his early 30s, they need another leader at the back because they have already conceded nine more goals than Premier League leaders Chelsea.
Manchester United F.C. - Stop Relying So Much On Zlatan!
Listen, every team has one player who scores a majority of their goals, Tottenham have Harry Kane, Arsenal have Alexis Sánchez, Manchester City has Sergio Agüero, but when those players are injured and suspended, they have their wide players and midfielders cover for them in the goal scoring category. Right now who do Manchester United have to help Ibra? Rooney looks past it; Depay wants to leave; Martial doesn't play, and Rashford is too young to rely on really. I don't think it's spending money to fix this problem it's Mourinho managing Martial and Depay more because to be the best team they can be they need secondary scoring.
Middlesbrough F.C. - Secondary Scoring to Help Álvaro Negredo
Middlesbrough is in a unique spot for a newly promoted club. Never before have we had so many teams underachieve like Leicester, Crystal Palace, West Ham, Swansea, and Sunderland, so they have a real chance to stay up. The biggest issue is they have only scored 16 goals this season. This is tied for the least amount in the Premier League. Álvaro Negredo has scored five goals this Premier League season which may not seem like a lot but if your striker is only going to score 12-15 goals a season you need secondary scoring and right now they don't have that. Boro can't squander this chance to stay up.
Southampton F.C. - Keep Hold of Virgil van Dijk
As I said in thebeginning of the year Virgil van Dijk is a top 3 center back in the Premier League. He is strong, great in the air and one of the better defenders with his feet. Chelsea is rumored to want the defender but Southampton boss Claude Puel said he isn't for sale. With a history of selling their best players, let's just see if he will stay. I wouldn't bet on it.
Stoke City - Get More Out of Top Players
With players like Bojan, Xherdan Shaqiri, Wilfried Bony and Marko Arnautović, Stoke need to be playing better than they are doing. I have been disappointed by Shaqiri and Arnautović the most. These two are their best two players and they looked to them for goals and assists and combined they only have two goals and three assists. This is flat out not good enough. I know Stoke fans will most likely be happy with a mid-table finish but are these two the most disappointing players in the Premier League?
Swansea City A.F.C. - Hold on To Gylfi Sigurðsson
Gylfi Sigurðsson is one of the only bright spots of the season for Swansea City as they have already sacked two managers and seem primed for a relegation battle. Whether it is the Euros or in the Premier League Gylfi has always been a great player, and if Swansea can keep him and build on this team with one more goal scorer, they can stay up, but it will be a tough road for the Welsh side.
Tottenham Hotspur F.C. - Managing The Team with Europa League on the Horizon
As we saw last season, Tottenham dropped after their emotional and heartbreaking defeat against Chelsea to officially give the title to Leicester City. Now with a new signings like Victor Wanyama and Vincent Janssen mixed with youth players like Harry Winks and Cameron Carter-Vickers, Poch needs to make sure he keeps Harry Kane, Danny Rose, Christian Eriksen and Toby Alderweireld fit as they seem to be the most influential players in the side.
Watford F.C. - Get Troy Deeney Back On Track
Troy Deeney has four goals, three assists, and a very subpar 6.88 average match rating this season. Deeney was one of the breakout players last season and was rumored to leave Vicarage Road but the way he is playing he doesn't deserve to start let alone move to a better club. Deeney last season had 13 goals, and I doubt he will be able to get to that number if he keeps playing like this.
West Bromwich Albion F.C. - Don't Change Anything
West Bromwich Albion supporters should be extremely happy this season as everything is going their way. When many teams around them are suffering, they are resting pretty in ninth! With players like Nacer Chadli, Salomón Rondón and Matt Phillips they have the skill to score goals but they also have the defensive structure of Tony Pulis to keep them from dropping down the table. Great work by everyone at that club.
West Ham United F.C. - Keep Payet
According to theMetro, Payet does want to join a "bigger" club, and besides the last three weeks, West Ham has had a tough season with their new stadium. It's fair to say if West Ham loses Payet they go from a mid table team to a relegation favorite. He is the most important player on a team in the Premier League, and I don't think Michail Antonio in particular will keep his great season up without him.
