As October has finally come to an end, it's time to celebrate the new month with a great player spotlight for your NHL daily fantasy needs. Today we have one player in each position who should easily be the first names picked for your lineup. Of course, before we start, don't forget to follow us on Twitter at DST_Tweets as we have some awesome giveaways coming soon.
Martin Jones (G): San Jose Sharks - 8,200
Martin Jones has started the year very well as he has five wins and a solid Save Percentage of .916. Martin Jones is not just a good goalie but on one of the best teams in the NHL and always gets help from that high-powered offense. What this comes down to is what goalie is going to get the win, and with the Sharks playing against the Arizona Coyotes that's exactly what I see happening.
Career Stats vs the Coyotes: GP:5, W:4, SV%: .965, SO:2
Erik Karlsson (D):Ottawa Senators - 7,800
Karlsson is having a fantastic start to the season as he has three goals, five assists and a plus-minus of two. After a rough start to their season the Senators seemed to have gotten on the right track and fixed their problems on defense. Now Karlsson and the Senators host the Hurricanes in a game that the Swedish D-man can take over. I know he is expensive but Karlsson is practically a forward, he's a great buy.
Career Stats vs the Hurricanes: GP:23, G:4, A:9, PPA:3
Jimmy Vesey (W): New York Rangers - 4,400
Jimmy Vesey has had an incredible start to his rookie season as he is one of the leading goal scorers on the New York Rangers. Vesey has found a great position as he plays on the first line and seems to be having amazing chemistry with Rick Nash. Vesey isn't just playing extremely well, but he's only 4,400 dollars in Daily Fantasy which is an amazing deal for someone who plays on the first line and on the power play.
Leon Draisaitl (C): Edmonton Oilers - 5,200
Leon Draisaitl and the Oilers go up against the Maple Leafs tonight and I can see the Oilers taking it to Toronto. The Maple Leafs have the third-worst defense in the league, and the Oilers who are one of the hottest teams in the league will not just win but also score tons of goals. Draisaitl isn't just a great goal scorer but also is cheap in daily fantasy which makes him the perfect pick.
Career Stats vs the Maple Leafs: GP:2, G:0, A:0.
