After some time off we are back with our NHL Picks! A lot has happened since we were gone but now most notably the firing of Bruins coach Claude Julien. Now, we have two games on for you tonight to make sure you all can win back some of the money you lost from the Super Bowl.
Anaheim Ducks @ New York Rangers - [-135]
The Rangers are trying to extend their winning streak to three tonight as they host the Ducks at Madison Square Garden. The Rangers, with how inconsistent Lundqvist has been looking (even though he seems to be more steady now) New York will need to use their offensive prowess to win this game. With their second best offense and ninth best power play this should be a tough game for the Ducks even if they are top five in penalty kill and sixth best goals against. The big difference is the Ducks offense; they are 20th in the NHL. Even though the Rangers are 11th in defense, I still think the Rangers offense is too powerful and fast where I can't see the Ducks keeping up with that. Rangers to win 4-2.
Los Angeles Kings @ Tampa Bay Lightning - [+100]
The LA Kings go to Amalie Arena and face the struggling Tampa Bay Lighting. The Lightning are the third worst team in the NHL with 157 goals conceded and 144 goals scored. Without Stamkos, this team looks awful and lost and now going up against the Kings who may not be having the best season but with Jeff Carter looking great and now with Tyler Toffoli back I think the Kings will be too much for the 23rd ranked defense and the 21st ranked penalty kill. Yes, the Lightning have tons of skill but this entire season they have just been that bad where trusting them to win any game is too much to ask. Kings to win 2-1.
