As we have another day of NHL Hockey, it's time to go across the board and look at the games and who are the best picks/bets for the night. As I sit here, a day after my birthday, I realized how much money I wasted last night. Luckily for me, DST will be here for everyone's money needs as we have two amazing picks tonight. Of course, don't forget to check us out on Twitter to keep updated on our blogs.
New York Rangers @ Florida Panthers - [+112]
The Rangers try to get six points in 24 hours as they go to beautiful (sort of) Sunrise Florida. The Rangers by the numbers should dominate this game, besides their amazing defensive performance last night as they won 1-0 in Overtime, they also have been the better team in this matchup. The Rangers lead in goal per game average by .80 and are seven rankings higher in special teams. The Rangers are also 8-1-1 in their last ten against the Panthers which is frankly amazing. They also are 4-1 in their last five games away from home, and the Panthers at home are 1-4 in their last five. I would look at Rick Nash to have a huge game as in 21 games against the Panthers he has 17 points and five on the power play and the penalty kill. I see the Rangers winning very easily.
Mika Zibanejad's winning goal last night
St. Louis Blues @ Minnesota Wild - [-166]
The Minnesota Wild look to finish the destruction of the Blues at the Xcel Energy Center as they try to go 3-0 this season. The Wild have won those two games by eight goals to two. This is just pure and utter dominance. The Wild are also an offensive juggernaut as they have the second best goals per game average and the 15th most shots per game. The Blues, on the other hand, are the 10th worst defense in the league which could be an issue against the Wild. The Wild are also 7-3 in their last 10 and 6-2 at home in that time. I see Zach Parise having a big game as in his career against the Blues he has six power play goals and a total of ten. I think this game will be closer than a "5-1" or a "4-1" scoreline, but the Wild will get it done.
