WOW, this is all I can say, after a lackluster and poor round of games during the week (Tuesday and Wednesday) the Premier League is back at their finest with some instant classics. We had upsets, big wins, gorgeous goals and most importantly, big performances. We are here to give you the three best players from this incredible weekend of matches. So many players had such great games, to join the debate tweet us at DST_Tweets.
Third Star: Eden Hazard - Chelsea F.C.
It was another successful match day for Chelsea are their star man Eden Hazard who was KEY in their 3-1 win over Arsenal to practically knocking the Gunners out of the title race (if not everyone). Besides, Hazard's world class goal where he out muscled Francis Coquelin and dribbled through both Arsenal center-backs but he was just dynamic all over the pitch. He also had an 80% passing percentage with two key passes, ten successful take-ons, and two interceptions. After last season, I wondered if he would ever hit the heights in the Premier League again, and wow has he done that! He ended the match with a stellar 9.2 match rating and of course, the Barclays Man of the Match.
Second Star: Pedro Obiang - West Ham United F.C.
Pedro Obiang was on form today as West Ham got a massive win against Southampton. It was a stressful January for West Ham as they lost their best player, but since all of the Payet drama started, they have stepped up their game. They did it again as this time they got help from their defender of all places. Obiang had an 80 percent passing percentage, one assist, five successful tackles and of course, his gorgeous outside the box goal. Obiang seems like he will finally get a true and solid place in the West Ham XI as the 24-year-old is showing his class.
First Star: Romelu Lukaku - Everton F.C.
This should come as no surprise to anyone but the first star of the matchday 24 is Everton's big and strong striker Romelu Lukaku! He was absolute class as he had FOUR yes FOUR goals for Everton as the Toffees beat Bournemouth at home 6-3. He didn't just score (which alone would get him the first star) he also created two other chances, had seven take-ups, a 86% passing percentage and won two aerial duels. Lukaku now is leading the Premier League in goals as he is finally showing the world that is/will be world class. He ended the match with a PERFECT 10 out of 10 match rating and the Man of the Match. Wow, that's all we can say.
