As the month of October has finally come to an end, it's time for the third ever DST Premier League Monthly Awards! We will look at a few important categories that will perfectly round up the month of October in the best league in the world.
Manager of the Month
Many managers had great months; we had Arsène Wenger, Jürgen Klopp, and even Mark Hughes but these managers were not as good as one manager, and that man is Chelsea's Antonio Conte.
Conte and Chelsea had an amazing October as the Blues won every Premier League match and didn't even concede a goal. It wasn't just the wins, the good defense or the eleven goals in four games but it was who they played. Besides Hull they played against tough opposition like last year's Champions Leicester City, Southampton and of course, their famous demolishing of José Mourinho's Manchester United. Many people (including me) doubted Chelsea at the start of the season, and it seems like the Italian manager is proving everyone wrong.
The All Hope is Lost Award
This is a special award; this is dedicated to David Moyes and everyone at Sunderland A.F.C. I don't like jumping to conclusions this early in the season but my god, are you guys terrible. Sunderland is the ONLY team who hasn't won a match this season. Even if Jermain Defoe goes back to his form at Tottenham, he can't save this team. I am sorry Moyes and Sunderland but enjoy the Championship next year.
P.S. Everyone likes Newcastle more.
Goal Of The Month
There were many great goals this month; we had Sergio Agüero against West Brom, Shaqiri against Hull and Gastón Ramírez world class run against Bournemouth. All of these goals were deserving of an award but there was one goal that was even better, and that was Dimitri Payet's fantastic goal against Middlesbrough F.C.
Oh My God. What a fucking goal. The way he takes down the ball and seems to go around ever defender was pure class. Payet is absolutely amazing and is way to go good to be at a middle of the table club in West Ham. This guy will be at a PSG, Madrid or Manchester City soon.
Player Of The Month
We had some outstanding player performances this month. We had Eden Hazard, Dele Alli, Theo Walcott and Charlie Austin but none of these players got the award. The winner didn't just play well but also he saved his team from getting stuck in a relegation battle and that player is Joe Allen of Stoke City.
Joe Allen ended the month of August with an 8.12 average match rating and was the main reason Stoke City aren't in the bottom three anymore. Joe Allen had three goals and two assists this month and even though this stats might not fly off the page his overall play was so crucial to this Stoke City side. If you haven't watched Stoke this season you might not realize how great of a signing the Welshman has been but trust me, he deserves this.
