This is our last Power Ranking for the back line, and I'm going, to be honest, the voting on my Twitter Poll (DST_Tweets) and the winner got 90% of votes for my poll. Even though there was a landslide, we still have an amazing blog as we count down the best 5 Left-Backs in the league. Let's do it.
5. James Milner - Liverpool F.C.
James Milner isn't a traditional Left-Back, but he has stepped up for Klopp and Liverpool to replace an awful Alberto Moreno. He has an excellent 7.45 Match Ratings and four goals at the start of the year (Kind of a Penalty Merchant). Milner is one of the most versatile players in the Premier League and has been great to start the year, BUT Liverpool still needs to buy a new LB.
4. Aleksandar Kolarov - Manchester City F.C.
Aleksandar Kolarov is another one who is extremely versatile defender as he played LB and CB this season for Manchester City. Kolarov is less risky than his LB competitor at Manchester City Gaël Clichy which is why he got the nod. Every time Manchester City have an important match Pep 99 percent of the time goes with him which is why I will go with him as well.
3. Nacho Monreal - Arsenal F.C.
Nacho is a very vanilla defender. He doesn't do anything spectacular he's not that flashy, but he gets the job done as he has a match rating of 7.24 in the Premier League which is one of the best to start the season. Even though I do think he is good, I have seen him get beat a few times, and I feel like if Arsenal wants to challenge on all four fronts they might need a better LB.
2. César Azpilicueta - Chelsea F.C.
César Azpilicueta might not have the best average match rating to start the year (6.87), but he's been moved a lot around the back line to cope with the new style of play by their new manager, Antonio Conte. Even last year he had a decent 7.07 match rating even though Chelsea were god awful. Like Monreal, he is very simple, but he's a bit bitter which is why he is 2nd.
1. Danny Rose - Tottenham Hotspur
Danny Rose has had a rise in English Football as he went from a young Spurs loanee at Sunderland to starting at the Euros and now this. Rose is leading LBs with a 7.61 Match Rating (Minimum 3 matches). He was easily the fittest player to get this number one of best left-backs as he was in the Team of Season from the Premier League last year and now won my twitter poll by more than 80%. Nice work Danny Boy.
