After our first losing pick of the season, we are here to bounce back with a preview of the Monday night match as Tottenham drive up to Manchester (sober hopefully) and face José Mourinho's (for now) Manchester United. As always we will break down everything and give you the best insight for this massive match.
Tottenham Hotspur F.C. @ Manchester United F.C.
Manchester United (+146)
I know it's early but this is a MUST WIN for both teams. Tottenham is coming into this game with two wins out of two but hasn't looked super convincing in both, but luckily one player that has is Lucas who seems like he can be like a new signing for Spurs as they try to push on. IN saying this, they had a rough week as their captain and resident French-man Hugo Lloris was caught "drink driving" with rival player Olivier Giroud and Laurent "I have shitty joints" Koscielny. Luckily, no one was hurt but with the Spurs fans giving him stick online, this is not a good story to have around the club, but it seems like he will start this match but will need to go court on September 11th. Now, if we discuss Manchester United we need to start with José Mourinho, even with Matic, Valencia, and Herrera back to full fitness, it's still doom and gloom at Old Trafford after their embarrassing loss to Brighton. Even though he has called for the fans to band together and it seems they have listened to him, his problems have only just begun. We always expect his teams to be boring, but we expect them to win the easy games and defend well, and so far they haven't and if they play like that against the stellar attack of Spurs that will be a huge problem. Lastly about United's woes, how will they lineup going forward? And can Lukaku break the back three of Toby (hate spelling his last name) who was in fact linked to Manchester United, Jan Vertoghen and Sanchez, and I honestly don't think he can. Even though the Red Devils haven't been great, Old Trafford is always hard to play at so this won't be a walk in the park, and I see this game being extremely close, but it's a new year and new me, no more sitting on the fence, and for that reason I will go with Tottenham win.
Prediction: 2-1 Spurs
