One step forward two steps back for the people here at DST as we lose a parlay due to Sunderland actually being good and Spurs not being to string together more than five passes. As we now look at the international break I think this comes at a perfect time as a lot of parlay usuals need to hit the training ground and get some chemistry with their players.
Tottenham Hotspur V Liverpool
Prediction: 3-2 Spurs
Actual Score: 1-1
This match is why Tottenham makes me want to drink, cry and take drugs. Liverpool was garbage at the start of the game, but our midfielders completely let Harry Kane down with terrible service into the box. All of Tottenham had a terrible first half besides Michael Vorm who made a couple of world class plays to keep Spurs in it. After Lamela's clumsy foul on Roberto Firmino in the box which let James Milner score a penalty goal. Tottenham seemed like they were going to lose. Even though Danny Rose tied it up for us and some would say we stole a point I leave the game feeling like we lost. Oh and lastly, FA...sort out your fucking officials they are TERRIBLE.
Manchester United v Hull City
Prediction: 4-0 Manchester United
Actual Score: 1-0 Manchester United
I'm going to start this summary by just saying huge props to Hull City, they have a terrible owner, depleted squad and no manager and they are playing lights out this season even though they fell short today. Everyone wrote them off to be beaten badly today, and they stood their ground and probably deserved to get the point out of this match. Sadly, in sports sometimes you deserve more than what you get, and Marcus Rashford scored a 92-minute tap in to break Hull's hearts and to keep Manchester United at the top of the Premier League (for now).
Southampton V Sunderland
Prediction: 2-0 Southampton
Actual Score: 1-1
This match was a very typical mid-table meeting in that it was very boring and not much skill until 15 minutes left to play. The main highlight for me was seeing Jay Rodriguez of Southampton scoring after being practically two years out with countless of injuries. I truly apologize if you sat through this entire match.
Leicester City v Swansea
Prediction: 1-0 Leicester
Actual Score: 2-1 Leicester
Leicester City finally won their first match of the year in traditional Leicester fashion: throwing the ball up to Jamie Vardy and a headed goal by a defender. The game looked stale until out of nowhere the ball flies to Jamie Vardy, and he does what Jamie Vardy does which is smack it into the back of the net and mock the away section. After that, Wes Morgan tallied another for the champions and even Leroy Fer's strike wasn't enough to get Swansea a point.
