After a Tuesday and Wednesday where we watched Football (or Soccer, shoutout America) that made our jaw drops with incredible goals like Arjen Robben's strike against Arsenal to make it one nil, or PSG's shock 4-0 win over Barcelona and Dortmund losing 1-0 to Benfica. Now it's time to change to the Cup that makes you say things like "Will Tottenham finally win it", "Finally Sevilla isn't in it" and "who the fuck are they?". Nevertheless, we have three picks from the Europa League that will make you some serious money to end your work week right.
Tottenham Hotspur F.C. @ K.A.A. Gent - [-125]
Tottenham are back in the Europa League! After a shit showing in the Champions League group stage Mauricio Pochettino try to bring their men to European Glory as he looks for his first trophy as Spurs manager. They got lucky to get Gent as they are in eighth place in the Belgian League as I see this being more of a celebration for Gent than a game. I see Tottenham resting some players for this game but since they have Fulham on the weekend in the FA Cup, this won't be a completely different side than what we saw against Liverpool. The big factors in this game will be Moussa Sissoko, Harry Winks, and Vincent Janssen. All of these players are tipped to start today as especially for Sissoko and Janssen this is a huge chance to show Tottenham their class. I see this being more of a slow game as Rose and Walker will not play for Spurs but Tottenham is just too good not to win this game. Tottenham will win 2-0 and I am calling it right now, Vincent Janssen will FINALLY score from open play.
ACF Fiorentina @ Borussia Mönchengladbach - [+105]
It's been a tough year for Borussia Mönchengladbach as even though they did themselves proud in the Champions League, they are eighth in the Bundesliga with not an actual goal scorer as their top target man only has six this season (Lars Stindl). They now look to turn their season around against the 8th place team in Serie A. The reason I am picking Borussia is due to their home form and Fiorentina have been so far awful away from home with a zero goal differential and six loses. These two fixtures will be close but the German side will get it in done in matchday one. Borussia Mönchengladbach to win 1-0.
FC Schalke 04 @ PAOK FC - [+129]
FC Schalke could be the dark horses in this years Europa League as even though, in 11th place in their domestic league, they have so much skill all over the pitch which make them a dangerous team to face. Nabil Bentaleb will be one of the players to watch as the soon to be an ex-Spurs midfielder has been scoring gorgeous goals and assisting players like Yevhen Konoplyanka and Breel Embolo. To keep it short, they are just too skillful and too good to lose to PAOK who aren't really great. FC Schalke to win 2-1.
